Patient Education tools have three goals: Connection, Understanding, and Decision Making.  The tools connect you to your patient and their needs, building the patient’s trust in you.  The tools increase understanding and help patients remember important facts.  And, they make decision making comfortable, (please read between the lines here, "increases case acceptance).

The company was founded in 1998 by Jeff and Larry Jackson with the vision that a synthesis of engineering and communications technologies could be applied not only to create product simulations, but also for marketing and communications and education enterprises.

This frequently happens with a new user, as they don't realize that there are currently only 12 animations with sound. In addition to the animations designed to be aids for teaching, there are also animations that have voice and can be used as general information for patients. They come as a playlist called GURU Insights. Currently there are 12 of these animations. More voice animations will be added to GURU Insights in the coming months.

Over 200 animation and images to help you translate the complexities of dentistry, emphasize the importance of your recommended treatments and really WOW your patients. There will be 30 new animations at this next release.

The MedVisor product was the original software name; having versions running 2.0 - 3.5. There are functionality difference between GURU and MedVisor, to include drag-and-drop, and playlist sharing. In content GURU has much more information. It also will be the only shareable version for the GURU playlist community.

Currently the preview of GURU TV, a DVD based product for play in lobbies, is available.

You can create any kind of presentations within GURU, and use the thumbnail tray to take material into almost any type of exportable format. The presentations and thumbnail trays can be burned on cd or directly emailed to the client. There are multiple forms which can be exported including, .jpg, .gif, .png , .tiff, .bmp, documents from Word, Power Point, and so on. All these help "personalize" the presentation.

Three ways: First it is capable of exchanging files with any patient management system or imaging software through the Windows drag and drop technology. Secondly, with Dentrix, GURU can be opened directly in the patient management system. The third form of integration relates to the actual process changes which use of the system will initiate, primarily in time savings and workload reduction.
